Welcome WWMC’s new Executive Director
The Board of Directors of the Wabamun Watershed Management Council could not be more pleased to announce that effective June 1, 2025, Erica Sivell has been appointed as the WWMC’s first Executive Director! Erica will serve a crucial role in helping us chart our path forward as we increase our efforts to protect and preserve Wabamun Lake and its watershed for future generations.
Erica is a passionate advocate for the health and sustainability of Wabamun Lake and its watershed. She holds MBA and CPA designations, and brings a strong background in strategic and financial leadership in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. She is excited to apply these skills to advancing WWMC’s goals of protecting water quality, supporting healthy aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity, promoting wise land use, and encouraging engaged stewardship.
A firm believer that collaboration is essential to achieving meaningful, long-term impact, Erica looks forward to working closely with local residents, governments, and all partners to move the Council’s goals forward. As a resident of the Wabamun Lake area herself, she is personally connected to the watershed — she can often be found paddleboarding or reading lakeside — and is deeply committed to preserving its natural beauty and ecological integrity.
The WWMC wants to extend a warm welcome to Erica and thank her for assuming this key role. We would also like to acknowledge the financial support of the Edmonton Community Foundation in making this possible.
